Today is Day 1 of my second Whole30. I feel less excited this time, but much more competent to actually get it done. Today, I have to go to the grocery store, stock up on all that good, real food, and then start cooking it. It's been quite a while since I cooked much, so it'll be a little hard to get my you-know-what into gear, I think.
Aaron is doing it again, too, but poor man has to eliminate nuts, nightshades, and pork. His stomach issues never resolved on the Whole30, so he is trying to figure out what he might be reacting to. Hope it's one of those three and that we'll know in 30 or so days.
I won't blog the WholeDamnedWhole30 like I did last time, but I do want to tell my dear readers about the workshop I went to yesterday. Dallas and Melissa, creators of the Whole30, did a full day talk at the Crossfit affiliate in Smyrna. They were wonderful - very good speakers - and I learned a lot about the science behind this way of eating. I haven't been convinced about dairy yet (whether to eat it or leave it out), but I have some new ideas to research about why it might be bad for me. I understand the whole lectins in grains thing much better than before. I'm interested in learning more about systemic inflammation, which is the basis of most of their dietary recommendations.
So, I'll go now and eat some meat and veggies. Oh, and as a side note, this post was typed with 2 spaces after the periods. I don't care one way or the other, so live with it.
