English supermodel Kate Moss seems to have lady luck smiling down on her, as she was seen walking out of a casino with an estimated 50,000 pounds in roulette winnings.
Moss was seen with her good friend retail tycoon and Topshop boss Sir Philip Green.The 34-year-old model was also spotted clutching a thick wad of notes in an envelope as they left Aspinalls casino in Mayfair.
Moss, who is worth about 45million pounds, was playing blackjack and then roulette at the society hangout.
"Kate didn’t let the excitement get to her and as soon as she hit her winning streak, she sensibly called it a day. She had five packets of notes in the envelope, which could be as much as £50,000 winnings in total," the Daily Express quoted a casino worker as saying.
Kate had been out on the town with Sir Philip to celebrate the launch this week of her fifth Topshop clothing line.

Brazilian supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio
Alessandra Ambrosio was part of the deluge of Brazilian models that emerged after Gisele Bündchen opened the floodgates. One of the star models of that group, of which fellow Victoria's Secret/Guess? Model (and best friend) Ana Beatriz Barros is a member, she accumulated quite a career in the late 1990's into the next century.
- As an early teen, she enrolled in a modeling class and subsequently was entered in the Elite modeling agency's 1996 Look of the Year competition. Though she did not win, she was offered an Elite contract one year after.
- Her first modeling job was the cover of the Brazilian Marie Claire, and Ambrosio followed with other editorial work, but it was not long after that the Marcianos at Guess signed Ambrosio for their fall Millennium campaign in 2000. Her lucrative print career began with being a Guess? Girl and continued with deals with Revlon and Victoria's Secret.
- Ambrosio walked the VS runway for the first time in 2001 and continued to be a fixture in subsequent shows. Ambrosio was also picked to be the spokesmodel for the 2004 Pink line by Victoria's Secret.

I always loved that line from Anne of Green Gables. Today, I felt that those nicest and sweetest days deserve remembering. This blog was born. It will be part Reepicheep, seeking the utter East, part Mooreland, Indiana, where nothing important ever happened except birth, death, love, hatred, family, and work, part Anne Shirley, marking the passage of days, and part Matthew Arnold, hearing and remarking on the "melancholy, long, withdrawing roar" of lovely things dying out of the world.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art has drawn on its large and important collection of textiles and costumes for a small exhibition entitled The Bizarre and the Beautiful: Silks of the Eighteenth Century. It examines the development in Europe of what are known as bizarre silks, which are defined by their juxtaposition of various patterns and the use of fantastical imagery. The show, which is on view until the spring of 2007, comprises fifteen examples of these silks, a few of which were fashioned into dresses worn by stylish women in Philadelphia.

The angle of the shot is at a slight low angle. It’s not low enough to be a worm’s eye shot. The model appears confident and in charge of the situation as a result of the camera angle chosen. The lighting in this shot is coming from right side and is slightly raised creating a shadow that’s positioned lower than the model on her right. The light bounces off of the left side of her face, left hand, and left knee. Her white skin has a perfect glow. This totally contrasts with the dark outfit composed mainly of black and shades of dark brown, and the background which is cement gray.

Korshunova's doorman, Mahmoud Nakeeb, 45, said the model seemed happy when she came home at about 4am on Saturday.
'She came in this morning, she smiled, no sense of depression,' he said.
'She was a very sweet girl, always smiling, never depressed-looking.'
Nakeeb said the green-eyed Korshunova was very down-to-earth, often dressed in simple trousers and shorts. He had no clue she was an international model.
